Custom Memory Quilt Policy & Disclaimer
Handmade Craftsmanship
Every quilt created by Pert Near Perfect Collective is a handmade, one of a kind piece crafted with care, intention, and attention to detail.
Because each quilt is individually sewn using previously worn garments and textiles, natural variations may occur as part of the handmade process. While every quilt is carefully planned, constructed, and inspected before delivery, minor variations may occur, including slight fabric shifting, small differences in seam alignment, or minor irregularities in stitching.
These variations are common in handcrafted textile work and do not affect the durability, function, or longevity of the quilt. They are considered part of the character and authenticity of a handmade heirloom.
Garment Condition
Memory quilts are created using garments provided by the customer. These garments are often worn, aged, stretched, or washed many times prior to construction.
During the cutting and sewing process, garments may reveal hidden wear such as thinning fabric, weakened fibers, fading, stretched material, or small holes. While stabilization techniques are used when necessary, some fabrics may naturally shift, stretch, or behave differently during construction due to their original condition.
Pert Near Perfect Collective cannot guarantee the long term behavior or durability of previously worn fabrics and cannot be held responsible for issues related to the original condition of the garments provided.
Printed Graphics and Vinyl
Many athletic jerseys and graphic T-shirts contain screen printing, heat transfer vinyl, or specialty ink applications.
Over time these printed elements may crack, fade, lift, or peel due to age, washing, and normal wear. During the preparation and sewing process, garments must be cut, stabilized, and stitched through multiple fabric layers. While printed areas are handled with care, the sewing process may reveal or accelerate existing wear.
Pert Near Perfect Collective cannot guarantee the long term condition of printed graphics, vinyl lettering, or heat pressed designs that were applied to garments prior to construction. Any cracking, lifting, or peeling is considered a natural result of the age and condition of the original garment.
Garment Cutting and Use
All garments submitted for a memory quilt will be permanently cut as part of the design and construction process.
Once garments have been cut, they cannot be restored to their original condition. Customers should carefully review all items before submitting them to ensure they are comfortable with them being permanently altered.
Unused garment pieces may be returned upon request.
Design and Layout
Each quilt is designed using the garments provided. Fabric size, print placement, garment condition, and construction requirements may influence the final layout.
While special requests may be considered when possible, exact placement of specific graphics or garments cannot always be guaranteed. Final design decisions are made to ensure structural integrity, visual balance, and the best overall finished product.
Deposits and Custom Orders
Memory quilts are custom, made to order pieces created specifically for each customer using their personal garments.
A deposit is required to begin work and reserve a place in the production schedule. Because garments are cut and materials are purchased specifically for each project, deposits are non refundable.
Once garments have been cut or construction has begun, custom orders cannot be canceled.
Garment Risk and Handling
Customers acknowledge that garments submitted for memory quilts may be delicate, worn, or irreplaceable. While every effort is made to carefully handle and stabilize materials during construction, the sewing process involves cutting, pressing, stitching, and handling textiles that may already be fragile due to age and wear.
Pert Near Perfect Collective cannot guarantee that all garments will behave predictably during construction and cannot be held responsible for damage caused by the original condition of the garments provided.
Limitation of Liability
By submitting garments and placing an order, the customer acknowledges the nature of handmade textile work and the use of previously worn garments in the construction of memory quilts.
The customer understands that minor variations in stitching, fabric movement, layout, or garment condition may occur as part of the handmade process. The customer also acknowledges that printed graphics, vinyl lettering, and previously worn fabrics may naturally crack, fade, stretch, or deteriorate due to their age and original condition.
By proceeding with an order, the customer agrees that these characteristics are inherent to the materials and process and agrees not to hold Pert Near Perfect Collective liable for minor imperfections, fabric behavior, or changes in printed graphics that occur during or after construction.
Pert Near Perfect Collective’s responsibility is limited to delivering a structurally sound handmade quilt using the garments provided.
Customer Acknowledgement
By submitting garments, paying a deposit, or placing an order, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to the Pert Near Perfect Collective Custom Memory Quilt Policy.
